“Rod” news - Whelchel’s torture book

From my POV I don’t consider what I’ve read (I haven’t read it all!) in the book torture. It’s certainly utter disrespect and lacks understanding… which doesn’t jive with RU and doesn’t jive with Following in Jesus’ Footsteps. The following update does give some links to pages from the book. They have some things highlighted but it’s best to read it all in context. But she even states that she wouldn’t discipline her kids in certain ways with other people around because of fear of someone calling the authorities… like, hello, is that not a RED FLAG to you lady?

I’m not at all interested in wasting my time reading the rest of the book (which some supporters of this way of treating your children would say you should do before judging the book). It doesn’t support the way I raise my DD, so it is of no value to me. She may have some interesting ideas (as some of the people who had already rated the book stated) but the negative negates any positive in the book.
